Due to continued growth they are looking for an International Shipping Coordinator to join their team, based in Stockport. The successful candidate will manage and coordinate all aspects of international shipping and logistics, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods to customers, distributors and other business partners within and outside of the UK. They will work closely across departments to ensure smooth and efficient order fulfilment and ensure compliance with international trade regulations.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Shipping Management: Coordinate international shipments, working with freight forwarders and carriers to arrange transport, track deliveries and ensure on-time arrivals.

Documentation and Compliance: Prepare customs documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists and chamber of commerce documents, ensuring compliance with international trade laws.

Customs and Tariffs: Handle customs clearance, ensure correct tariff classification and manage duties and taxes.

Inventory and Order Tracking: Provide real-time updates on to internal teams and customer on order status and ensure inventory accuracy and assist in stock control.

Cost Management and Process Optimisation: Negotiate shipping rates, monitor expenses and identify process improvements for greater efficiency.

Candidate requirements:

  • Experience in international shipping or logistics
  • Knowledge of customs regulations, shipping software and inventory systems
  • Familiarity with documents including certificates of origin and letters of credit
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of export markets, including EU, US, Asia and Middle East
  • Strong organisation and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Awareness of dangerous goods would be advantageous.
