SALARY: £25,000 - £27,000 per annum + Benefits

LOCATION: Southwick, West Sussex (100% Office Based)

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 37.5 Hours per Week covering the following shifts:

  • Early Shift: 7:30am - 4pm
  • Late Shift: 9:30am - 6pm

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an IT Technician / Helpdesk Analyst / 1st & 2nd Line Support Engineerwho has a sound, basic understanding of IT Technology and IT Terminology, covering Windows Server, Desktop / Workstation software applications and networking technologies.

Working as an IT Technician / Helpdesk Analyst / 1st & 2nd Line Support Engineer you will provide first line and second line support on a busy IT service desk covering a broad range of IT infrastructure, including Windows Servers, Networks and providing remote Desktop / Workstation support. You will provide remote support from the office in Southwick, West Sussex, diagnosing and resolving technical issues, configuring systems, and ensuring seamless operation of IT environments.

As the IT Technician / Helpdesk Analyst / 1st & 2nd Line Support Engineer you will need a solid foundation in troubleshooting technical issues remotely and will need excellent customer service and communication skills.

DUTIES

Your duties as the IT Technician / Helpdesk Analyst / 1st & 2nd Line Support Engineer include:

  • Remote Technical Support: From the offices in Southwick, you will provide remote support for Windows Server environments, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
  • Desktop / Workstation Support: Install, configure, and support Microsoft Windows Desktop Operating Systems, ensuring optimal performance and user satisfaction
  • Network Support: Configure and support wireless networks and related technologies, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and ensure network security
  • Microsoft Office / 365 Support: Assist with the installation, configuration, and support of Microsoft Office / 365 applications
  • Incident Management: Effectively manage and resolve technical issues reported by clients, escalating where necessary
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of systems, processes, and incidents
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, ensuring all client interactions are professional, clear, and supportive

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • A sound, basic understanding of IT and IT terminology, including Windows Server and Workstation products as well as networking technologies
  • Experience with Windows desktop operating systems, installing, configuring and administering including connecting to a Microsoft Windows Network / Domain
  • Experience in configuring wireless networks and technologies
  • Unifi / Ubiquiti would give you a headstart!
  • A good understanding of the Microsoft Office suite & Microsoft 365 is essential
  • Possess a willingness to learn and co-operate as part of a team
  • Excellent telephone manner is required along with friendly customer service skills
  • Attention to detail is very important
  • A logical approach to problem solving coupled with common sense
  • Punctuality, staff must be ready to work by their allotted time and willing to be flexible with their working arrangements
