Assistant Insurance Manager

Principal Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist in the management of the day-to-day delivery of insurance management services to our clients and be a primary or secondary point of contact within Willis Towers Watson.
  • Maintaining an on-going relationship with clients and gaining an understanding of the clients' business and industry.
  • Contact for Underwriting and Claims queries/information for client companies.
  • Assist to produce information, on a basis agreed with the client, to enable the company's Board of Directors to make informed decisions.
  • Assist with the relationship management with owner/parent company, insurance regulator, directors, auditors, actuaries, bankers, tax advisers etc.
  • Support the team to ensure that (re)insurance companies under management comply with Guernsey Financial Services Commission (GFSC) regulations and filing requirements, including solvency regulations and various guidelines.
  • Assist in the insurance management for specific clients:
  • Production of detailed Underwriting accounts, review of premium and claims information, assist in budgets/forecasts.
  • Liaise with insurers, brokers, reinsurers, risk consultants, loss adjusters in relation to the underwriting activities of the nominated client companies.
  • Compile information on the impact to the technical result due to changes in underwriting performance.
  • Review all relevant contracts/policy wordings/agreements, regarding underwriting and claims issues and to report to the directors therein.
  • Handle the renewal cycle of insurance/reinsurance contracts written by assigned client captives.
  • Liaise with client service team to assist in the coordination of client board meetings.
  • Client entertainment as part of regular Board visits, as required.
  • Payment of claims and related expenses subject to obtaining appropriate authorization.
  • Ensure compliance with all Willis Towers Watson Group and client procedures.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

  • Have experience of (re)insurance underwriting preparation
  • Show progression towards a professional CII Qualification, and or
  • Have experience of the Guernsey and or UK Regulatory environment
