Senior Electrical Designer

AWE is currently recruiting for a Senior Electrical Designer. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to progress into an Electrical Design Manager role and support our Orion Laser Facility, to conduct and deliver electrical operations safely across our Engineering and Science functions.

As a Senior Electrical Designer, your role will focus on managing electrical design projects from initial concept to delivery, overseeing the development and implementation of electrical engineering processes, approve electrical design substantiations, scheme and detailed designs, electrical drawings and calculations.

Location: Reading

Package: £47,690 - £60,000 (depending on your suitability and level of experience)

The Role?

  • Accountable for the oversight and implementation of AWE's electrical engineering processes.
  • Oversee the production of technical drawings, reports, and specifications.
  • Check and approve drawings Responsible for the training and development of electrical team members.
  • Manage electrical design projects from initial concept to delivery.
  • Providing technical support to clients and the engineering team Ensuring that design project deadlines are met.
  • Gathering details and specifications from clients.

What will you need to be considered?

  • Electrical Design Manager Experience; Degree, HNC, HND, Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartership.
  • Proven experience in Experience of 3 phase and single-phase electrical systems, experience of LV and or HV systems.
  • Be up to date with18th Edition and have a full understanding of relevant British standards.
  • Experienced in creating 2D Electrical designs.
  • Experienced in managing design projects from initial concept to delivery.
  • Knowledge of PLC systems such as Rockwell, Allen Bradley would be beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential and attention to detail is very important.
  • Must be able to follow processes and be willing to ensure others are following process.
  • Must be a team player.
