AWE is looking for an Engineering Programme Delivery Lead to provide Engineering capability to the Trials, Experiments & Technology Development Sub-Function in support of AWE Programmes, to oversee a wide range of challenging projects within Radiation Physics Delivery Unit. Package: £62,020 - £88,000 (depending on your suitability and level of experience)

The Role?

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities of the role;

  • Be accountable for delivery of a programme of work and shape the delivery method using the company's best practices.
  • Lead project managers and technical specialists whilst being responsible for programme level reporting, risk management, financial management, planning, performance, supply chain management and resourcing.
  • Drive business change, culture change, training, process transformation and support capability within the programme.
  • Be responsible for programme planning and governance.
  • Oversee planning of the programme and monitor its progress, reporting to the business delivery unit.
  • Oversee the programme's budget.
  • Manage risks and issues and implement mitigation appropriately.
  • Direct Project Managers to deliver their projects and their interdependencies.
  • Maintain relationship with facility delivery management team to assist programme delivery.

Your key skills should include but not be limited to:

  • Programme/Project Management qualifications or be able to provide evidence of equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally, written and the ability to drive delivery.
  • Experienced in stakeholder management and being able to target audiences.
  • Strong practical experience in project management delivering technical projects.
  • Experience of managing complex projects.
  • Good knowledge and handling of project and programme management methodology and techniques.
  • Ability to work positively with the wide range of individuals involved in programme delivery.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Good knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures.

While we welcome applications from developing project managers, ideally you will have demonstrable experience in:

  • Good understanding of Public Procurement Regulations.
