We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Service Manager to oversee all aspects of service provision for a leading outdoor recreation provider and sustainable forestry leader. This role involves managing a team, ensuring high-quality inspection, service, and repair of assets, and establishing key external supplier relationships. The successful candidate will be customer-focused, technically skilled, and adept at financial management.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Lead and mentor a team to deliver business objectives and maintain high service standards.
- Manage inspections, servicing, and repairs of assets, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
- Establish and maintain an approved supplier network for efficient external maintenance sourcing.
- Communicate effectively with team members, end users, and suppliers, ensuring transparency and collaboration.
- Oversee financial aspects, including budget compliance, invoice authorisation, and cost-effective management of resources.
- Promote a safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations and conducting risk assessments.
- Drive business sustainability by reducing waste and encouraging recycling and innovation within the team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Demonstrable experience in a customer and technical engineering environment.
- Sound understanding of legislative and regulatory compliance in engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Recognised technical qualification (NVQ, SVQ level 3 or equivalent) or significant relevant experience.
- Minimum of 3 GCSEs in core subjects at grade C or above.
Desirable:
- Experience with fleet management software and asset records.
- Experience leading a team across geographical areas.
