About the role
As Management Accountant, reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be part of a growing finance team. The team manages the finance and reporting function for the group. This role is a new role within the business with activities ranging from assisting with the preparation of the monthly management accounts to undertaking daily reporting across the business and management of the extensive fleet of vehicles. This role is able to offer exposure to a wide range of financial areas for the successful candidate. Overall, you will help to provide accounting support within the Finance team to produce, deliver and continuously improve the management accounts.
Key responsibilities
- Support the Finance Manager with delivery of monthly management accounts for the business.
- Sole responsibility of the reporting for two of the subsidiaries.
- Assist in management of the fixed asset register and disposals across all businesses.
- Month end procedures - posting journals, accruals, prepayments and intercompany transactions.
- Assist with Year End reporting and audit.
- Balance sheet reconciliations - including Hire Purchase and Operating Lease agreements.
- Identify, design & implement improvements to processes where applicable.
- Supporting the wider finance team during projects.
Person profile
- Essential - CIMA/ACCA Qualified or Finalist (Part qualified will be considered if very relevant experience)
- 2 Years+ experience in a similar role
- Experience in managing large volumes of data
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Good numerical ability with an attention to detail
- Able to organise and prioritise work to meet deadlines
- Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with internal stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work autonomously and manage a busy and varied workload
