Head of Finance Business Partnering

Large technology communications group with ambitious growth plans seek commercial qualified with first class interpersonal skills to work in the head office with the executive team.

You will own cross divisional communication and business partnering leading on financial reporting, insights and budget activity.

You'll work closely with the wider finance teams to be able to provide expertise, advice and challenge decisions using data and analytics.

Key duties:

  • Be the key finance point of contact with the Executive Committee members in the following areas-
  • Opex management and decision support.
  • Identifying and quantifying potential risks and opportunities to budgeted performance across cost centres.
  • Adopting a "value for money" mindset and challenging cost centre leads as required.
  • Identify potential inefficiencies and cost savings.
  • Providing ad hoc insight and analysis.
  • Create processes to enable Group-wide reporting of central functions
  • Identify revenue and market growth opportunities on the back of these Exco relationships
  • Business case preparation and review by working closely with other busienss teams to pull all the information together (business teams, as well as other finance teams - Commercial/Procurement/Product)
  • Return on investment analysis
  • Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the business, including product managers, operations, and development teams.
  • Share knowledge/insights through the production and presentation of analysis & reports.
  • Become a key liaison point between cost centre managers and the Finance team e.g. General Ledger and FP&A teams.
  • Help maximise the opportunities for improved operating expense managing arising from new functionality and processes delivered by current finance transformation projects (including a Microsoft 365 ERP and OneStream consolidation systems rollouts)

Key requirements:

  • A proven background partnering with executives in a fast-moving environment
  • Experience working within a large, complex organisation and managing multiple senior stakeholders
  • Excellent data and analytics to provide meaningful insight to our business leaders and be confident to have challenging conversations - be the role of 'trustedadvisor' and finance challenger'
  • Able to analyse and draw conclusions from large, complex data sets but also able to provide support and opinions in areas where information may be limited or there are areas of ambiguity.
  • Able to work in a fast-moving environment and with an innovative approach
  • Comfortable switching from a 'hands-on' and operational mindset to a broader commercial/strategic one as needed
  • Qualified accountant with commercial experience

A few things to note ?

This role is based in the Newbury head office with hybrid working. Some travel to other offices will be required as needed.
