Our client is seeking a proactive and innovative Head of Finance - Business Accounting, who will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality accounting, close, and control activities across their UK business. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive best practice adoption through simplification, standardisation and automation of the Record to Report process. What you'll do:
As the Head of Finance - Business Accounting, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity of our client's financial operations. You will manage an accounting team responsible for delivering accurate and compliant management and financial accounting. Your focus will be on maintaining balance sheet integrity while driving best practice adoption through simplification, standardisation and automation. You will act as the main point of contact for Group Consolidation and maintain effective relationships with internal customers. Your leadership skills will be crucial in driving efficiency and effectiveness within the Finance Reporting Hub.
- Manage the accounting team to deliver timely, accurate, compliant management and financial accounting.
- Ensure adherence to Group Accounting policy, UK GAAP and other standards as required.
- Maintain a robust, disciplined control framework, including overall responsibility for UK balance sheet controls / reconciliations.
- Act as main point of contact with Group FP&A for Group Consolidation.
- Maintain effective relationship & service management with internal customers.
- Drive the efficiency and effectiveness of the Finance Reporting Hub service delivery model.
- Manage master data change requests in line with defined governance processes.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Head of Finance - Business Accounting position is a qualified accountant (ICAEW or CIMA) with significant post-qualification experience. You have previously led a finance team within a complex multi-business organisation and have demonstrated excellent team management skills. Your customer service orientation coupled with your strong communication skills make you adept at managing cross-functional stakeholders. You possess good knowledge of systems architectures, integrations, information and data management. Your ability to identify improvement opportunities will be key in this role.
- Qualified accountant (ICAEW or ACCA) with sufficient post qualification experience in a similar or related role.
- Experience in leading a Finance team in a complex multi-business organisation.
- Customer service orientation with excellent team management skills.
- Good communication and cross-functional stakeholder management skills.
- Understanding of systems architectures, integrations, information and data management.
- Proven ability to identify improvement opportunities.
