Job Advert: YOS Operations Manager
Service Care Solutions is assisting the London Borough of Lambeth in recruiting a dedicated YOS Operations Manager. We are looking for a dynamic individual to manage and lead the multi-agency Youth Offending Service (YOS) to prevent offending and re-offending by children and young people.
Role: YOS Operations Manager
Location: Based across various locations in the London Borough of Lambeth
Contract Type: Full-Time, Fixed Term
Contract Duration: 24 Months
Salary Range: £31.89 - £39.89 per hour
Main Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day operational management of the Youth Offending Service in line with council policies and national standards.
- Leadership and development of the YOS team, including formal supervision, workload management, performance appraisal, and training.
- Strategic planning and implementation of interventions to reduce youth offending.
- Managing high-risk cases and ensuring compliance with local and national policies.
- Collaborating with partner agencies to deliver effective youth justice services.
- Preparing and presenting strategic reports, managing budgets, and representing YOS in various professional settings.
Key Requirements:
- Degree in Social Work (HCPC registered) or Community Justice with a Level 5 Diploma in Probation Studies.
- Minimum of three years post-qualifying experience and extensive line management experience in a youth justice setting.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation including the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 and the Children's Act 1989.
- Proven experience in developing high-quality Youth Justice Services and effective practice methods.
- Strong operational management skills and experience in a multi-agency environment.
