Finance Manager (Part time)

Opportunities to make a genuine impact in a fast-growing SME don't come around often. This role offers the chance for an experienced Finance Manager to help continue the growth and expansion of an ambitious international business.

You'll have a wide-ranging remit to manage the finance function for both the UK and EU entities of an international group. There is clear scope for the role to grow as the business continues to flourish and you will be able to utilise all your experience to improve the effectiveness of both systems and reporting.

25 -30 hours a week. Loads of flexibility about what that looks like. Predominately remote with a few days travel to HQ near Reading a month. International business, impressive growth, great product. Overseeing UK and European entities. Standalone. Would suit someone who's worked in a similar role before. Ideally with retail / e-commerce / FMCG experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the day to day financial and accounting operations of the business.
  • Overseeing accounting procedures.
  • Full general ledger responsibility for 2x legal entities based in the UK and Ireland.
  • Ensure all month-end accounting entries and reconciliations are completed in line with Group timetable to ensure timely consolidated reporting.
  • Ensure data integrity through oversight of controls, checks and reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Process and reconcile all AP/AR via bank accounts in the UK and Ireland.
  • Manage cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs.
  • Reconciliation and settlement of intercompany invoices.
  • Lead the preparation and review of VAT return(s) in the UK and Europe (including OSS). Lead on VAT compliance matters as required.
  • Assist in calculation and lodgment of annual UK Corporation tax
  • Support Group Financial Controller with annual audits
  • Developing and implementing cost effective financial policies, procedures and controls to make sure financial risk is mitigated and financial records are accurate.
  • Preparation of Year End back up schedules for the external accountants to prepare statutory accounts.

Your Experience

  • Ideally ACCA, CIMA, or ACA qualified but Qualified by experience will also be considered.
  • Previous retail / eccommerce / FMCG experience.
  • Ability to problem solve, highlight issues, and find solutions.
  • A self-starter that can work autonomously, but also collaborate well in a team.

What's On Offer?

  • £50,000 - £55,000 basic salary DOE
  • 1/2 days in office per month (Reading)
  • 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays)
