Job Description:
Academics is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Art and Design Teacher to join our team at a well-regarded secondary school in Cheshire. This role is to cover a maternity leave, providing an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to make a significant impact on students' learning experiences. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Art and Design up to Key Stage 4 (KS4) and Design Technology up to Key Stage 3 (KS3).
Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons in Art and Design for students up to KS4.
- Teach Design Technology to students up to KS3, ensuring lessons are stimulating and aligned with the national curriculum.
- Assess, record, and report on students' progress and development, ensuring timely feedback is provided to students and parents.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to achieve their full potential.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies and resources.
- Participate in departmental meetings, parent evenings, and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of students at all times.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
- Experience teaching Art and Design up to KS4.
- Experience teaching Design Technology up to KS3.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Art and Design.
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage and inspire students.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
