THE COMPANY:

My client is a large membership body whos aim is to enhance society through improved animal helath and welfare. They do this by setting, upholding and advancing the educational, ethical and clinical standards of veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses.

THE ROLE:

To provide administrative support for the Professional Conduct Department and members of the public and to support the handling of complaints.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the department in its investigation of complaints, including telephone enquiries to veterinary surgeons, veterinary nurses and members of the public.
  • Support Case managers with all aspects of case handling and administration.
  • Support Disciplinary solicitors with case preparation and administration.
  • Assist in liaison with witnesses for Disciplinary cases.
  • Correspond with complainants and veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses who are the subject of a complaint, including notification of reviews.
  • Assist Head of Professional Conduct with Analysis / preparation of reports of complaints and advice statistics from listed case factors.
  • Assist generally with the work of the department, including photocopying, scanning of documents and filing.
  • Updating of Professional Conduct website

**THE PERSON:

  1. Clear, concise, logical and practical approach to issues
  2. Ability to understand complex problems and think through solutions or theories.
  3. Good writing and drafting skills
  4. IT skills – database management and Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint
  5. Excellent telephone manner
  6. Ability to work as part of a team.
  7. Resilience.
