The School
A large secondary school in South Gloucestershire, with a resource base attached. The school has a high percentage of students with SEND/SEMH. The resource base provides additional support for pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
The Role
You would be the lead teacher in the resource base. You will be planning support programmes for individual pupils according to specific areas of need. You will deploy a team of SEND teaching assistants effectively to support pupil's progress. The role is temporary with the potential to become permanent.
Main Responsibilities:
- Plan and evaluate lessons
- Deliver high quality, engaging, lessons
- Provide written and verbal feedback to students and parents/carers
- Work together with the SENDCo
- Support and mentor SEND teaching assistants
- Act on guidance from external professionals
Essential Criteria
- QTS
- Understanding of SEND Code of Practice
- Prior experience working with children/young people with SEND/SEMH needs
Desirable Criteria
- SEND qualification(s)
