What You'll Bring:

The Senior Data Governance Analyst is responsible for supporting the delivery of the Data Management and Governance Framework and practices using their specialist knowledge and expertise.

Day to Day You'll Be:

  • Supporting and improving compliance with data governance, data quality, data protection policies and standards
  • Ensuring new and existing product and data assets are well managed in accordance with the above and reporting on compliance
  • Maintaining the data asset catalogue
  • Maintaining and maturing the Data Ownership Framework. Proactively engaging Data Owners, Data Stewards and Data Users to ensure they are adequately supported and trained in their roles
  • Collaborating closely with Data Privacy and Data Quality teams
  • Contributing heavily to building the new data lineage and business glossary, liaising with project areas and utilising expertise from SMEs across the business
  • Supporting the resolution of data issues and incidents. Collaborating with stakeholders, liaising with Global Issue Management, Compliance and Data Issue Response teams, and reporting/escalating to relevant committees
  • Reporting on risks, issues and performance to the Data Quality and Governance Manager
  • Engaging with TU Data Governance teams across the global business (e.g. in Spain, US, Canada) to promote alignment and share best practice
  • Supporting the personal development of the (junior) Data Governance Analyst.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Knowledge and understanding of data management and governance concepts and best practice
  • Knowledge and understanding of the GDPR, as well as other relevant legislation and regulations
  • Understanding of data quality concepts and how to measure data quality
  • Understanding of data cataloguing and data lineage
  • Ability to work and oversee a network of Data Stewards to meet the data governance requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with a variety of technical and non-technical business stakeholders
  • Ability to articulate a business issue without resorting to technical language
  • Organisation and time management skills, including working to deadlines with multiple deliverables
  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
