You will ensure that cost effective, technically compliant and buildable solutions are designed, approved and handed over to the construction teams in line with programme expectations.
Responsibilities of a Mechanical Design Engineer:
Your responsibilities will include:
- Produce Outline and Detailed Mechanical Designs which are cost effective and meet the requirements of the client's specifications, and which can be purchased, installed and commissioned effectively
- Production and Checking of all design deliverables including Specifications, Schedules, Drawings and Calculations
- Ensure designs are completed in accordance with CDM Regulations
- Ensure that standard designs and design practices are utilised wherever possible
- Delivering the design stage outputs of each project within the agreed timescale and budget
- Coordinating design outputs across all technical disciplines
- Preparing monthly project status reports
- Establish working relationships with construction staff and supply chain representatives to promote buildability and supply chain efficiency in design outputs
Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent qualification
- Several years' experience in Mechanical design in water / process industry
- Chartered or near chartered in a construction discipline as appropriate to grade
- Experience in the Water treatment Industry
- Working knowledge of CDM and construction Health & Safety
