The difference you will make as a Commercial Officer

As a Commercial Officer you will work as part of a busy and successful team within Riverside Property Services where you will be reporting to the Commercial Manager. You will be assisting the Cost Analyst with the analysis of proposed spend on repairs and maintenance to empty and occupied homes, highlighting where the proposed spend seems disproportionate and escalating this to the Delivery and Performance Managers.

Person specification

  • To monitor and control all work undertaken within either a geographical or property type contract area undertaking pre and post inspection as required.
  • To monitor progress and completion of works from the Operatives and Sub Contractors within the requirements of the term briefs.
  • To manage the use of CIM's, Operatives and Sub Contractors, ensuring that they comply with Company standards of work performance, customer service and Health & safety procedures.
  • The primary reporting line is to the Commercial Manager; however, the job role will include a close working relationship with other Riverside Property Services staff. This role requires a person with the ability to communicate at all levels with other parts of the Riverside Group, residents, and Riverside Property Services staff.
  • Assist with the management of Operatives and Sub Contractors so as to maximise contract performance against KPI's, minimise default notices and penalties and to ensure high levels of customer service so as to achieve contract value.
  • Assist in the control the costs of such items as man hours, equipment, vehicles, stock and tools, thus minimising wastage and avoidable expenditure.
  • Assist in the preparation of company and contractual documentation in readiness for invoicing to the client thus contribution consistent cash flow
  • Gain appropriate sign off for expenditure and Identify cost effective service delivery options to reduce cost.
  • The jobholder will liaise with the Riverside Group and its agents, Riverside Property Services staff, operatives, sub-contractors.
  • Supporting the Standards Team with the cost analysis for repair & maintenance project work - primarily in terms of the Riverside Empty Homes Standards (EHS) but also for responsive / planned activity where required.
