Learning Support Assistant (Primary & Secondary) - September Starts in Waltham Forest

Empowering Learning is excited to announce multiple opportunities for dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join our partner primary and secondary schools in Waltham Forest starting in September. We have both 1:1 and group support roles available, providing vital assistance to students across various age groups and abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, ensuring their educational and emotional needs are met.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons, adapting materials and strategies to support individual learning styles.
  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment, encouraging students' confidence and independence.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCo, and other staff to develop and implement effective support plans.
  • Monitor and record student progress, reporting any concerns or achievements to relevant staff members.
  • Support students with special educational needs (SEN), including those with Autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties.
  • Help manage classroom behavior and create a safe, respectful, and stimulating learning atmosphere.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role within a school setting.
  • A genuine passion for supporting the educational and personal development of children and young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
