Empowering Learning is excited to announce multiple opportunities for dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join our partner primary and secondary schools in Waltham Forest starting in September. We have both 1:1 and group support roles available, providing vital assistance to students across various age groups and abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, ensuring their educational and emotional needs are met.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons, adapting materials and strategies to support individual learning styles.
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment, encouraging students' confidence and independence.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCo, and other staff to develop and implement effective support plans.
- Monitor and record student progress, reporting any concerns or achievements to relevant staff members.
- Support students with special educational needs (SEN), including those with Autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties.
- Help manage classroom behavior and create a safe, respectful, and stimulating learning atmosphere.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role within a school setting.
- A genuine passion for supporting the educational and personal development of children and young people.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
