**Job Title: Pre-Litigation Fee Earner Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire Salary: £27,000

Role Overview

This role offers the chance to manage and progress a portfolio of personal injury claims at the pre-litigation stage. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality legal support from the point of instruction, working closely with clients and insurers to drive claims towards successful resolution, while ensuring compliance with relevant protocols and deadlines.

**Key Duties

  • Take ownership of a personal injury caseload, focusing primarily on RTA claims in the pre-litigation phase.
  • Manage all aspects of cases via the MOJ Portal, including lodging claims, exchanging documentation, and negotiating settlements at Stages 1, 2, and 3.
  • Review evidence thoroughly, including medical reports, witness statements, and liability assessments, to evaluate claim merit and advise on strategy.
  • Maintain clear, proactive communication with clients, providing updates and managing expectations sensitively throughout the claim lifecycle.
  • Engage in negotiation with insurers and other parties to reach fair settlements promptly and effectively.
  • Ensure adherence to firm procedures and legal regulations, maintaining accurate case records within the case management system.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to escalate cases to litigation where necessary, ensuring a seamless transition.

**What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience working as a fee earner or legal assistant in a personal injury pre-litigation environment, ideally with a strong focus on RTA claims.
  • Confident use of the MOJ Portal across all stages of claim management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and third parties.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to handle a high-volume caseload efficiently.
  • A motivated and proactive approach to case progression and problem-solving.
