**Job Purpose:
To ensure the school's buildings, grounds, and equipment are maintained in a clean, safe, and functional condition. The Maintenance Officer supports the smooth running of school operations by carrying out preventative maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep of the facilities.
**Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine inspections of school premises and infrastructure.
- Perform general repairs and maintenance, including carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical tasks (as appropriate and within qualifications).
- Maintain grounds and gardens, including mowing, trimming, and rubbish removal.
- Oversee and support contractors on site, ensuring compliance with safety and school protocols.
- Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in safe working condition.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests raised by school staff.
- Maintain records of repairs, maintenance logs, and safety checks.
- Assist in setting up for school events, including moving furniture and equipment.
- Comply with all workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements and school policies.
- Support emergency procedures, including fire drills and evacuation plans.

**Qualifications & Experience:
- Relevant trade qualification or equivalent experience (preferred).
- Previous experience in a similar maintenance or facilities role.
- Working With Children Check (WWCC) or equivalent (mandatory).
- First Aid and CPR certification (desirable).
- Driver's License
**Work Environment:
- Indoor and outdoor work.
- May involve working at heights or using tools and machinery.
- Requires some lifting and physical labor.
