Team / division overview

DWS is expanding its presence in the alternative credit business by establishing a European Collateralized Loan Obligation (CLO) platform which is led by an industry leader with 23 years experience.

DWS has identified demand for their European CLO platform from existing clients as well as new investment opportunities as well as to attract new institutional investors. During 2024 one European CLO will be launched with further CLOs to follow.

Summary of the role:

The Deputy Fund CFO will have responsibility for the finance and operations of all of the products in the new European CLO platform.

Reporting into the Debt CFO and with one allocated report, the role will closely partner with the Portfolio Management team to ensure the platform operates efficiently and effectively.

DWS' Hybrid Working model in the UK is designed to find the right balance between in-person collaboration and engagement in the office, which is core to our working culture, and working from home. Employees who wish to sign-up to our Hybrid Working model are required to work in the office two days a week, and given the flexibility to work from home for the remaining three.

Role Details;

  • Contribute to the product development process and responsibility for the set-up of structures,
  • Establish and maintain relationships with service providers including banks, administrators, legal and tax advisers and the directors and officers of the platform,
  • Responsible for the sound governance of the platform with legal and regulatory compliance a critical focus,
  • Responsible for liquidity management and treasury activities,
  • Responsible for the audit and tax reporting processes,
  • Oversee performance measurement and financial reporting including regular reporting to noteholders,
  • Implementation and maintenance of operating standards, processes and procedures,
  • First point of contact for noteholder and other key stakeholder queries in relation to finance and operations.

Your skills and experience

Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CPA) with at least 7 years PQE

Experience within the Alternative Investment Fund industry with a focus on debt, structured finance and CLOs

Detailed understanding of Alternative products, tax, legal and regulatory environment
