CAD Engineer

The successful CAD Engineer will work to develop CAM programs for CNC machines.

The role will involve:

  • Develop CAM programs for CNC machines.
  • Choose the right tools and materials for manufacturing.
  • Solve issues related to design and production processes.
  • Identify ways to make manufacturing processes more efficient.
  • Work with the production team to streamline workflows.
  • Apply lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Work with engineering, production, and quality teams.
  • Provide training on CAD/CAM software and processes.
  • Communicate design ideas and project updates to stakeholders.
  • Keep accurate records of designs and process changes.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Prepare reports on project progress and outcomes

To be successful in this role of CAD Engineer we would love to speak to anyone who has experience of:

  • How to read and interpret technical drawings and geometric tolerances and how they relate to the finished part.
  • Proficient in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
  • Proficient in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360).
  • Knowledge of CNC machining (including waterjet, lathe, mill, Press break)
  • Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
