The successful CAD Engineer will work to develop CAM programs for CNC machines.
The role will involve:
- Develop CAM programs for CNC machines.
- Choose the right tools and materials for manufacturing.
- Solve issues related to design and production processes.
- Identify ways to make manufacturing processes more efficient.
- Work with the production team to streamline workflows.
- Apply lean manufacturing techniques.
- Work with engineering, production, and quality teams.
- Provide training on CAD/CAM software and processes.
- Communicate design ideas and project updates to stakeholders.
- Keep accurate records of designs and process changes.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Prepare reports on project progress and outcomes
To be successful in this role of CAD Engineer we would love to speak to anyone who has experience of:
- How to read and interpret technical drawings and geometric tolerances and how they relate to the finished part.
- Proficient in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
- Proficient in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360).
- Knowledge of CNC machining (including waterjet, lathe, mill, Press break)
- Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
