Team / division overview

EMEA Alternative Credit is a key growth pillar of the EUR 115bn DWS Alternatives franchise. The Alternative Credit platform aims to build diversified portfolios across Direct Lending, Leveraged Loans, Capital Solutions and Structured Credit that deliver attractive risk-adjusted returns with a focus on capital preservation to a broad spectrum of investors including governments, corporations, insurance companies and private clients.

The role requires a hands-on individual contributor with credit, deal execution and legal documentation experience. This individual will be part of the investment team responsible for underwriting and executing new investment opportunities.

DWS' Hybrid Working model in the UK is designed to find the right balance between in-person collaboration and engagement in the office, which is core to our working culture, and working from home. Employees who wish to sign-up to our Hybrid Working model are required to work in the office two days a week, and given the flexibility to work from home for the remaining three.

Role Details;

  • Work closely with Alternative Credit team across the platform including Direct Lending, Leveraged Loans, Capital Solutions & Structured Credit.
  • Playing a leading role in the coverage of the alternative corporate credit sector which includes due diligence and financial analysis of investment opportunities, management of portfolios
  • Jointly prepare and present investment committee memorandums to the Investment Committee
  • Working in partnership with Product and Coverage divisions to support the creation and development of fund marketing materials and contributing to key fundraising strategies
  • Support the development of the Investment team and relative high-performance culture, while ensuring that all activity is conducted in line with regulatory and firm requirements, policies and procedures
  • Working with partners across Corporate Functions to ensure the business meets demands of clients across multiple channel
  • Other duties as assigned

Your skills and experience

We are open to receiving applications from a range of backgrounds however is particularly interested in speaking to individuals who have:

Qualifications & Experience:

  • At least bachelor's Degree, preferably a Master's degree with a major in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related financial discipline with an outstanding record of academic achievement
  • 1-3 years of related experience
  • Leveraged lending experience at a credit fund, commercial or investment bank, hedge fund or mezzanine fund
  • Strong technical analysis skills, with experience of conducting detailed due diligence and financial modelling of corporate credit investment opportunities across multiple sectors
  • Experience of effectively managing risk controls within an investments environment, with sound experience around the fiduciary duty of care and diligence
  • Ability to effectively communicate with external clients
  • Team player, achieving results, thinking critically and effectiveness
  • Highly committed to work in a project-driven work environment
