An Internationally renowned and well established FCA authorised business are seeking to appoint an experienced Shipping Officer to their existing team.
This is a high-profile role responsible for planning and coordinating the international shipments of all raw material and finished goods on behalf of the company.
Core responsibilities:-
- Responsible for planning and coordinating international shipments of raw material and finished goods with approved freight forwarders, in accordance with the Shipping forecast and Business requirements
- Raise shipping documentation in line with Customer and destination country requirements
- Update the shipping planner on receipt of confirmed movement details
- Obtain and verify freight quotes for air, ocean, land freight and air charters from approved vendors
- Coordinate and issue Customs Clearance forms for imports and follow up on receipting customs documentation from freight forwarder and couriers to ensure compliance with audit requirements
- Support departmental and factory meetings as required
- Review and approve supplier invoices
- Ensure the Business is Importing and Exporting in accordance with UK Legislation Divisional Currency
Experience required:-
Experience working with Imports and Exports in a manufacturing environment
Experience handling Air, Road, and Sea Freight shipments
Good knowledge of Incoterms
Letter of Credit knowledge (desirable)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office
