Job Role: Small Works Estimator

Area: Rochester

Salary: £40k - £45k

We are seeking Small Works Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience within the FM sector and will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of accurate cost estimates for various projects. This role is crucial in supporting the estimation team to ensure competitive and profitable bid proposals.

Responsibilities:

  • Estimation of small works projects and facilities management PPM bids up to a value of £100k.
  • Evaluate and clearly understand the details and requirements for each estimate, attend site visits where necessary and undertake comprehensive review surveys.
  • Collating mechanical, electrical and plumbing services on multi-service bids.
  • Compilation of a schedule of rates/bill of quantities.
  • Onsite liaison with client/customer undertaking the relevant site survey and review.
  • Communicating with client and customer base, ensuring all requirements are met/mitigated to their satisfaction.
  • Evaluation of potential project risk on both commercial and deliverable aspects.
  • Gather, analyse, and adjust data related to labour, materials, equipment, and other factors affecting cost estimates.
  • Filing system integration, continuing to build clear decisive file structure for transparency in handover to Small Works Manager.
  • Ensuring tender submissions are comprehensively reviewed and qualified correctly.
  • Regular review & evolution of the company's estimating documentation making sure this is up to date with rates.
  • Bi-Weekly team meetings and tender reports.
  • Generation and issue of handover documentation for secured projects ahead of meetings with the Small Works team.

The ideal candidate:

  • Ideally, come from an Estimating background within FM.
  • Knowledge of direct labour resources within the FM platform and associated labour costings.
  • Experience in presenting tenders to clients.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive and eager to learn with a positive attitude.
