Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Council are looking to recruit a Building Maintenance Surveyor to join ourteam based in Great Wenham. You will be working on a full time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will earn a competitive salary of £42,403 - £49,498 per annum (pro rata for part time).

What we are looking for
We are looking for 3 Surveyor's to join our new Housing Operations and (DLO) Direct Labour Organisation Team. To be successful, you will be driven and share our values, commitment, and motivation to make a difference for our residents, clients, and communities.
About the role
Working from our Great Wenham Hub, or other site-based working environment as required, you will deliver a full range of professional surveying services within Housing Operations and the DLO.
Reporting to the Senior Surveyor, your work will include, but is not limited to providing specifications of complex works, managing and coordinating works, mutual inspections, disrepairs, inspections, and complaint resolutions,
The role will be part of an out-of-hours call-out rota.
About you
- You will Ideally hold an RICS accredited surveying degree or a minimum HNC standard and a NEBOSH Certificate in Health and Safety.
- We are looking for experienced Surveyors with a thorough working knowledge of current and appropriate building works legislation, including CDM and Health and Safety.
- You will have a good technical knowledge of housing properties and their building and service components as well as sound knowledge of building defects and solutions and the ability to estimate building costs.
- A team player, you will need to be an effective problem solver, demonstrating attention to detail in your work and strong organisation and communication skills.
- A full valid driving licence is essential to carry out the duties of this role.
