Billing Officer
Contract: 3 months, Full Time
Rate: Up to £20 per hour (PAYE)
Location: Basildon (Hybrid)
Role Overview:
we are seeking a Billing and Benefits Officer to manage Council Tax billing, Housing Benefit, and Local Council Tax Support assessments. This hybrid role requires office attendance approximately once a week, ensuring timely and accurate administration of tax bills and benefits in line with legal guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer Council Tax billing and benefits processes.
- Ensure compliance with tax/benefits legislation.
- Update property and taxpayer databases.
- Validate exemptions, discounts, and benefits claims.
- Liaise with internal teams and handle customer queries.
Requirements:
- Experience in benefits administration.
- Knowledge of Council Tax and Housing Benefits laws.
- Strong communication and data management skills.
