The Interim Head of Finance is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing and managing all financial aspects of finance across an international multi-site business model including the delivery of strategic planning.

This position is based fulltime in the Oxford office.

Description

the Head of Finance is responsible for:

  • Oversee the monthly financial reporting, including key performance indicators and board presentations, ensuring they accurately reflect business performance for review by senior leadership.
  • Manage the group's cash flow and working capital to sustain operations, while identifying the need for mid to long-term financing.
  • Ensure the accuracy and consistency of monthly and annual management accounts, especially during close periods.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with banks and other financial institutions.
  • Uphold the group's accounting standards and procedures, including policies related to transfer pricing and intercompany transactions.
  • Lead the development and enhancement of the company's financial systems, controls, and procedures, driving initiatives for improvement.
  • Supervise the Financial Accounting team, ensuring timely and accurate recording and reporting of all financial transactions during both monthly and annual closings.
  • Serve as the primary contact for audit-related matters, coordinating closely with the Finance Manager.
  • Collaborate with various business units and legal teams to ensure adequate insurance coverage is maintained throughout the group.
  • Partner with finance leads across the group's businesses, offering support and constructive challenge to enhance financial decision-making.
  • Coordinate the preparation and review of business forecasts, budgets, and long-term strategic plans, ensuring they are well-balanced, robust, and aligned with the company's overall strategy before presentation to the board

Profile

A successful Interim Head of Finance requires the following skills and experience as a minimum:

  • Degree educated
  • A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Proven experience in a similar senior finance role within an SME/ PE backed/ fast growth business
  • Experienced of multi-site and international accounting requirements.
  • Experience of group accounting and consolidation.
  • Experience of building strategic business plans, business partnering and exceptional cashflow management.
  • UK Right to work
  • Able to commute to central Oxford 5 days per week.

The successful candidate will be required to work in the office full time.
