The role of a Teaching Assistant:
Classroom Support
- Assist the teacher in the preparation of materials and resources
- Supporting individual students or small groups with classwork
- Creating and fostering an inclusive, positive learning environment
- Ensure the class is tidy, and well organised throughout different points of the day.
Behavioural Support
- Implementing behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive and productive classroom atmosphere
- Supporting students in their development of social skills and behaviour
Individual Student Support
- Providing additional 1:1 assistance to pupils who may require extra support
- Offering encouragement and guidance to students with Additional Needs.
- Work with students with additional needs and contribute to the development and implementation of individualised education plans.
Communication
- The ability to communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and pupils regarding day-to-day classroom activities and the progress of pupils.
Candidate Requirements:
- Hold an enhanced DBS check (or be willing to apply for one)
- Registered with the EWC (We can assist with this as well as the DBS)
- Fluent in both Welsh and English
- Able to commute within Cardiff
