Pension Scheme Accountant
Manchester/Hybrid - 2 days in the office/3 days at home
£35-45k plus benefits/study support

This well-established business with offices across the UK is looking to expand its team due to continued growth.
Great opportunity for either a fully qualified or part qualified accountant to prepare pension accounts for their clients.
Key responsibilities
- Successful candidates must be willing to learn and have a sound working knowledge of double entry bookkeeping.
- Updating the accounting system with transactions and journals
- Obtaining valuation and disclosure information on scheme investments
- Calculation of accruals and prepayments
- Reconciliation of pension payroll, investments, contributions to accounting records
- Perform client take-on
- Preparation of a trial balance
- Preparation of cash analysis for admin reports and FRS102
- First draft of accounts for pension schemes including preparing the Trustee's Report, financial statements, and notes from underlying information
- Liaising with internal Administration, Actuarial and Investment teams to obtain information necessary for drafting accounts.
- Preparation of audit files
- Liaising with auditors and Trustees to resolve audit queries.
- Perform ISO9001 audit.
- Progression to reviewing other team members' pension scheme accounts.
Candidate Requirements
- Fully Qualified or Part Qualified ACA/ACCA
- Proven experience in double entry bookkeeping
- Working knowledge of pension scheme accounting or working in accountancy practice with experience of accounts preparation for clients is essential
- Attention to detail with excellent numerical skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal admin, actuarial and investment teams, investment managers, auditors and trustees.
- Ability to meet deadlines with a focus on first class customer service.
