Are you passionate about improving the lives of children and young people? Do you want to work for an employer that prioritises high-quality supervision, wellbeing, and career development? At Buckinghamshire Council, we have an exciting opportunity for a high-calibre, experienced Team Manager to join one of our newly created Locality Hubs, where you will play a pivotal role in transforming children's services across the county.

About Us
Our Locality Teams are dedicated to delivering statutory and targeted early help services to children and young people who are in need of support, protection, and care. Buckinghamshire Council is a relatively new organisation, formed by combining the strengths and expertise of the previous five councils in the county. Our mission is to create positive change for local people, communities, and businesses by providing high-quality services and strong representation at both local and national levels.

We believe in a collaborative approach, where our teams work closely with various stakeholders, including families, schools, healthcare providers, and community organisations. Our commitment to continuous improvement and innovation ensures that we meet the evolving needs of our residents, creating a supportive environment for children and young people to thrive.

About the Role
As a Locality Team Manager, you will lead a passionate and committed team of Social Workers and Family Support Workers in delivering essential early help services. Your role will involve a combination of strategic leadership, operational management, and hands-on support to ensure that our services meet the highest standards of quality and effectiveness. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing, Planning, and Delivering Services: You will be responsible for assessing the needs of children and families, developing tailored support plans, and overseeing the delivery of services that are responsive to those needs.
  • Quality Assurance and Performance Management: You will play a vital role in assuring the quality of practice within the team, managing performance effectively, and ensuring that our services provide value for money. Regular monitoring and evaluation of service delivery will be essential to identify areas for improvement.
  • Partnership Development: Collaborating with a range of partners, you will develop and coordinate effective partnership working within the service, ensuring a holistic approach to support for children and families. Building strong relationships with other agencies will be key to delivering seamless services.
  • Service Development and Improvement: You will take a key role in the planning and implementation of local service developments and improvements, driving innovation and best practice to enhance the services we provide. Your strategic vision will help shape the future direction of children's services in Buckinghamshire.
