ESG Sustainability Assistant

MKM is one of the fastest growing independent Builders Merchants in the UK. The business is growing rapidly with multiple branch openings across the UK. In this role you will provide support to the Head of ESG (Environment, Social & Governance), helping deliver initiatives which have positive impact on the environment and the communities we work in. This is an exciting and varied role in which you can make a difference. While you work, you will also be completing a CR&S Apprenticeship Level 4 (Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability), giving you a respected and practical grounding in this growing field.

Responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Manage fundraising campaigns for our branches and central support teams.
  • Build and maintain relationships with colleagues in our central support team and in our branches, and with community organisations to drive positive social and environmental impact.
  • Collate and review relevant data/KPIs from a number of teams and sources & created reports.
  • Help organise, run and take part in run community events.
  • Create communications for a range of audiences to help our teams get involved and implement activity.
  • Manage the ESG information on our intranet.
  • Track departmental spend against budget

To do well in this role you'll be able to demonstrate:

  • You have a keen interest in environmental and social issues within a business environment.
  • You're a self-starter who is happy to get stuck in, trying and mastering new tasks.
  • You have exceptional organisational skills and able to juggle tasks and projects.
  • You have great attention to detail.
  • You're IT literate in Teams, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Sharepoint, Social media, and with good English & Maths skills
  • You enjoy communicating, including written, face to face and over the phone.
