Manchester City Council is seeking a Storekeeper to support the Manchester Equipment and Adaptations Partnership within the Directorate for Families, Health and Well-being. The role holder will be integral to the operation of a high-quality warehousing facility, handling storage, decontamination, recycling, and deliveries of community equipment.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Maintain accurate records of assets within the warehouse, monitoring stock levels, and replenishing stock as necessary.
  • Decontaminate and recycle returned equipment effectively.
  • Provide front-line support to the transport contractor, including the loading and unloading of transport vehicles.
  • Maintain a safe, tidy working environment, ensuring items are stored and labeled according to manufacturers' instructions and compliance with Health & Safety legislation.
  • Deliver a high-quality customer-focused service, meeting deadlines and targets set for the service.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in warehousing or a similar role.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, with a focus on understanding and responding to the needs of others.
  • Competent in planning and organising multiple tasks effectively according to priority.
  • Capable of solving problems and making decisions independently, with sound judgement on when to escalate issues.
  • Creative thinking and innovative problem-solving skills.
