Senior Management Accountant

With the opportunity to progress quickly into a Finance Manager position, we're looking to speak to ambitious, qualified (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) accountants, ideally with multi-site business experience.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Senior Management Accountant will take ownership of the month end process and provide timely, accurate and high quality management accounts for senior leadership. Through your insightful analysis, you'll drive improved financial performance for the business as following a period of growth, they are keen to continue on this path of success. You'll have 2 direct reports and play an integral part in their progression as they study, so experience of coaching junior team members would be highly beneficial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all P&L's, the balance sheet and all supporting management information are completed on a timely, accurate and high-quality basis.
  • Ensure there is a through and robust review process for the P&L's, the balance sheet, supporting balance sheet records and supporting management information.
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders across the business to ensure smooth processes across divisions
  • Take ownership of the month end process, implementing improvements where you see fit
  • To play a key role in the year end and external audit processes.
  • Ensure there are appropriate financial controls in place around the management accounts process and within the services through service audits.
  • Provide and further develop weekly reporting and analysis to the organisation on key financial performance indicators.
  • Provide and ad hoc support and analysis to enable stakeholders to better understand financial performance.
  • To play a key role in the budget process, ensuring an accurate and high-quality budget is produced within the agreed timelines and to then support any subsequent re-forecasts.
  • Coaching, developing, supporting and managing the management accounting team as needed.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA).
  • Experience managing a team would be highly beneficial
  • Able to work as part of a team, providing leadership and direction to the team.
  • Able to prioritise own work and work under pressure to deadlines.
  • Substantial experience of working in a management accounts-based role.
