Animal Care Skills Coach

Location - Rotherham

Salary - Up to £37,496 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications)

Permanent, Full time 37 hours per week/52 weeks per year

Responsibilities for the Role of Animal Care Skills Coach

  • You'll collaborate with students, Animal Care technicians, and external stakeholders to maintain the health, safety, and well-being of various animals, including reptiles, amphibians, arachnids, insects, and nocturnal species
  • Your primary role will be to impart current industry knowledge through practical teaching, training, and assessment, ensuring students achieve their full potential via high-quality self-guided learning
  • Representing dedicated support to our local economy
  • As an Animal Care Skills Coach, your expertise will be crucial in mentoring our students and helping them acquire the knowledge, skills, and behaviours necessary for future success

Skills and Qualifications for the Role of Animal Care Skills Coach

  • Hold a relevant veterinary qualification at Level 3 or above in Animal Care
  • A degree is required for higher education learning programs
  • Possess a relevant teaching qualification or be willing to work towards obtaining one
  • Demonstrate the ability to provide high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment experiences across various levels in Further Education
  • Be passionate and engaging, with the talent to bring the subject matter to life and create a positive learning experience for a diverse range of learners

The Animal Care Curriculum Area, launched in September 2020, offers a comprehensive range of courses from Level 1 to Level 6 in Animal Care and Animal Management. With a diverse array of animals housed in our state-of-the-art facilities, this is an exciting time to join our team!

Reporting Structure

You will report to the Curriculum Director and/or Curriculum Manager. Regular updates on your objectives will be provided to your Programme Leader/Curriculum Leader, covering key performance indicators (KPIs) such as student recruitment, retention, anticipated achievement, attendance, and punctuality.
