Chichester College is recruiting a bank of Associate Lecturers to deliver high quality teaching and learning within our GCSE Maths department. This is a flexible role which allows you to accept work assignments work when convenient to you. Perhaps you are looking for that extra role that allows you to give back to our students and help shape their future.

GCSE Maths is a core subject within the College with all students studying the subject until they reach a grade 4. All classes are streamed into 3 different pathways dependant on the learner's prior attainment.

Key Responsibilities of our Associate Lecturer in Maths (Bank):

  • To undertake teaching and learning related activities, as agreed.
  • To ensure that appropriate learning materials are prepared and assessments and assignments are undertaken in a timely manner.
  • To undertake administration and provide reports and statistics regarding student and teaching matters.
  • To contribute to the development of curricula and learning activities, taking into consideration literacy and numeracy development, and equality and diversity.
  • To understand personal responsibilities in relation to Safeguarding.
  • Keep up-to-date with current issues, changes, and policies relating to the educational sector.
  • Adopt a proactive approach to participation in appropriate meetings and training, as agreed with the curriculum area.
  • To undertake the delivery of literacy and numeracy.

Our ideal Associate Lecturer in Maths (Bank) should have the below skills and experience:

  • Level 3 (or equivalent) in related subject
  • Level 2 literacy and numeracy
  • Relevant GCSE / Functional Skills teaching and assessing experience in related subject
  • An understanding of safeguarding vulnerable groups
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications
  • Application of digital technology to learning
  • Time management skills, organisational skills and the ability to meet targets and deadlines
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour
