A brand new, exciting opportunity is now available for an experienced Management Accountant to join a well-established accountancy firm in Southampton as the outsourced department manager. Having come about through business success and growth, this role will manage a team of 6, ensuring that all deadlines are met and that the department runs smoothly.
This role would be ideal for a qualified management accountant who has previously managed a small team within a UK based accountancy practice and who is looking for further progression within management. As an integral role within a new and growing team, genuine and uncapped progression will be available.
Key duties:
- Managing a team of 6 outsourced accountants of varying levels.
- Assist with technical queries, mentor staff, and support with the workflow.
- Manage workflow and timeframes to ensure tight deadlines are met.
- Manage a small portfolio of clients, responsible for management accounts, cashflow, forecasts and VAT returns.
Requirements:
- Ideally CIMA / ACCA / ACA qualified but all levels of qualification will be considered.
- Experience managing a team within a UK based accountancy practice is essential.
- Strong management accounting experience.
- Previous experience holding a portfolio of accounting clients.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to liaise with clients directly.
- Experience completing quarterly VAT returns, cashflows, and forecasts.
