We are looking for an enthusiastic, suitably qualified individual who will play a crucial role in realising the department's strategic objectives. You will be an inspiring lecturer with a background in Engineering. You will also have the ability to deliver varied, high quality and imaginative sessions and have a record of good achievement rates.
You will need to demonstrate an understanding and sensitivity towards a variety of learner needs and support the delivery team with a range of innovative teaching approaches to enable learners to reach their full potential.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- To deliver lively and interactive teaching, learning and assessment to an outstanding standard on a range of programmes as appropriate.
- To secure outstanding success for all learners and ensure targets for recruitment, retention, achievement and success, attendance and progression are met.
- To support the design and development of programmes in Engineering, which includes the new technical qualifications (T Levels), and higher technical qualifications at Levels 4 - 5, whilst leading a highly effective teaching team in this area of provision.
- To teach on a range of full-time, part-time and apprenticeship programmes at Level 3 including the T Level in Design, Development for Engineering Construction.
- To teach on a range of Engineering programmes at Levels 3 – 5.
- Engage in core duties including preparation, marking, monitoring student progress, preparing reports, setting and marking of examination papers, and developing and preparing flexible learning materials.
Required Skills and Experience:
- has a relevant degree in Engineering and equivalent higher technical expertise in this field (Electrical/Electronic / Mechanical or Design Engineering)
- Has or is willing to study for a relevant teaching qualification (DTLLS, PGCE or equivalent).
- Has industry experience, with current knowledge and the ability to deliver to industry standard.
- Is well organised and able to manage the peaks and troughs of a varied workload.
