Hours of Work: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. A timetable and breakdown of working hours are available on request.
Salary Band: Starting from £22,360.00 per annum, reviewed annually, with potential for extra hours payable on sessional rates
Contract Term: 24 months with an annual review and renewal linked to LFE funding

Purpose:

The Football & Education Tutor is responsible for delivering the education element (BTEC Level 3 in Sport/Extended Diploma), ensuring planning, teaching, and assessment meet high standards of delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver the Level 3 Diploma (Extended) in Sport elements to selected cohorts.
  • Utilizethe FCresources to create engaging, informative, and work-related lessons.
  • Monitor candidate portfolios to ensure desired standards are met.
  • Develop lesson planning material to be shared with other tutors.
  • Provide pastoral and wellbeing support for scholars within the Foundation.
  • Assist students with UCAS and other exit route applications.
  • Provide accurate and informative feedback to parents during scholar review meetings.
  • Work with the Manager for Sport and Officer for Sport to monitor students' progress and eligibility for fixtures and training.
  • Support the implementation of an effective recruitment plan for future cohorts.
  • Maintain a positive and safe learning environment regarding health and safety, professional standards, appearance, and display.

Summary Person Specification:

  • Essential:Graduate Degree Qualified in Teaching (PGCE), up-to-date CRB clearance, FA Child Protection certificate.
  • Desirable:Full driver's licence with own car, FA Level 2 in Coaching Football.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding practice and policy.
  • Experience teaching within a college/school setting, delivering BTEC/A Level standard programmes.
  • Proven ability to plan and deliver high-quality, creative, and engaging education programmes.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both with students and colleagues.
