Role: Senior Operator/Team Lead

Location: Wimbledon, SW19 2RL

Hours: Expected: Tuesday - Friday; 07:00 - 18:00.

Shift patterns will be flexible, in line with the operation requirements (between 03:00 - 19:00 Tuesday - Saturday).

An excellent opportunity has now arisen for aSenior Operator/Team Leadto join our client's successful team in Wimbledon.

About our client:

An online farmers market, combining the best suppliers from meat, fish, fruit & veg and dairy; enabling a home cook to source the best quality ingredients, whilst providing full transparency through the food chain.

Our client is a newly formed start-up, and with some encouraging early markets, will scale up operations during October 2024. They operate a D2C model, receiving stock from suppliers, consolidating into a single customer order box, before delivering this to the end consumer through the courier network. The product range is predominantly frozen, but also includes chilled protein, dairy and Fruit & Veg, and ambient goods.

About the role:

We are looking for an operator with a background in D2C operations, who has experience with inbound, putaway, pick, pack, dispatch and inventory management. Our ‘North Star' metric is quality, and it is essential the candidate showcases commitment to quality, aligned with our ethos.

The role has scope for progression into either a team leader/shift manager role, or an Operations Manager role working with the leadership team, as the business grows.

All orders will be picked/packed in a frozen or fridge environment, and suitable PPE will be provided.

Duties of a Senior Operator/Team Lead :

  • Receiving inbound stock from suppliers, confirming inbound quantities and report any discrepancies in volume or quality
  • Pre-fabricating fruit and vegetables as per customer orders
  • Putting stock into a location within the cold room and frozen product into the freezer
  • Consumables management and box creation
  • Inspecting goods for any damage or faults before they are packed
  • Using warehouse machinery to move goods from inbound area into the storage area, and to outbound area
  • Daily creation of boxes, ready for order fulfilment & outbound
  • Preparing orders on the dock, ready for courier pick up
  • Ensuring Health & Safety policies and procedures are following within the warehouse
  • Supporting with keeping the working area clean and tidy; this includes cleaning shared working areas

What we would like from you:

  • Experience in a warehouse environment
  • Reliability & time management essential
  • Customer focussed, attention to detail & quality a must
  • Team Leader/Shift Manager experience a plus but not essential
  • Comfortable working within a small team
  • Comfortable working within a chilled & frozen environment
  • Working with machinery (forklifts, PPT etc) a bonus
