Role Overview:

Macildowie Recruitment is seeking a meticulous and dedicated Accounts Assistant to join the Finance Department of our client's diverse and dynamic division. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of the accounts payable function and providing effective payroll support. It's a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their finance career within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Invoice Processing: Handle accounts payable invoices, including expenses. Raise and record all payments promptly and accurately in line with best payment practices.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure accurate accounting for VAT and other relevant taxes.
  • Inbox Administration: Manage the accounts payable inbox, ensuring all invoices are correctly captured.
  • Payment Runs: Prepare weekly payment runs, considering cashflow requirements.
  • Payroll Processing: Process weekly wages and expenses, maintaining accurate salary and payment data.
  • Reporting: Send out the accounts payable dashboard and review aged creditors and other financial reports.
  • Reconciliation: Reconcile supplier statements monthly.
  • Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate and confidential records as required.
  • Account Management: Prepare new supplier account forms, maintain existing account details, and ensure compliance checks are completed.
  • Support: Assist with other finance duties and develop knowledge of other areas within the Finance function to provide cover during absences.
