Junior Product Designer

We are seeking a Junior Product Designer to join our design team at our head office. This role involves playing a key part in the development of new LED exterior lighting products and producing associated documentation. This is a permanent, office-based position within our Technical Department.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Engage in the continuous improvement of our existing product ranges.
- Utilise Solidworks 3D CAD to design and develop products and conduct thermal and FEA simulations on your designs.
- Focus on value engineering and design for manufacture to optimise product development.
- Create manufacturing drawings and installation instructions.
- Assist the marketing team by providing details for technical datasheets and creating photo-real renders for product brochures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Solidworks 3D CAD and Microsoft Office software.
- Demonstrable creative drive with experience in using Solidworks.
- Good understanding of mechanical and electrical fundamentals to support supplier liaison, component selection, and system design during product ideation and conception.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to create and deliver presentations of development ideas to managers.
- A proactive "can-do" attitude, with the confidence and enthusiasm to manage a varied workload and contribute effectively to team efforts.
