REED have partnered with a global, award winning, family founded professional services firm based near Clifton Triangle, Bristol. Recruiting for an Underwriting Assistant, on a full time, permanent basis.

Hybrid working: 2 days office/3 home (upon successful completion of initial training and on-boarding)

Hours: Mon – Fri. 9-5 – 35 hour week

This opportunity would be great for an Administrator looking to take a step into the insurance/underwriting sector. The role could offer natural progression as you develop into roles such as Underwriting or sidestep to the Underwriting Processing Team.

Duties:

Review applications for policies that do not meet automatic acceptance criteria, within a set authority

Consider all information provided by the solicitor relating to the case

Assist solicitors to make the policies as accurate as possible

Transferring policies to new solicitors

Ensure premiums are applied correctly upon a successful case

Responsible for planning your own time, ensuring work is appropriately prioritised and all deadlines are met

Assist Underwriters in meeting their SLAs too by providing appropriate support

Build close relationships with solicitors and fee earners, and respond promptly & efficiently to all their queries

About you:

Admin experience – Open on sectors, but professional services could be advantageous

Equivalent of a C GCSE or upwards in Maths, English (ideally 5 in total)

Competent MS Office user

Strong numeracy and literacy skills

Strong communicator both written and verbal
