What you'll be doing:

This role will lead the credit underwriting and risk team supporting the rapidly growing and dynamic IT solutions business. This passionate, highly numerate underwriter will work closely with the finance and sales teams as well as external stakeholders, insurance brokers and customers alike, to maintain credit risk controls within an existing framework and provide a unique service to customers. As a Credit Risk Manager, you'll be responsible for:

  • Analyze data on low, medium, and high-risk customers and reviewing the accuracy of automated scorecards, with support of the deputy CRM.
  • Analyse monthly reports and preparation of departmental meetings (GFC review).
  • Participating in credit review meetings with the senior leadership team, displaying understanding of customers who have gone into administrations, high exposure risks, industry updates and credit assessment SLA overviews.
  • Manage data on credit exposure levels and ensure regular meetings are held with all credit and senior credit underwriters to fully understand the reasons behind why exposure levels are at a certain level.
  • Producing both reports and approval requests for the board, including analysis of the information and commentary behind the information.
  • Managing feedback from other departments within the business and taking actions where necessary.
  • Understanding wider business needs and regular catch-ups to be held with all departments who work closely with Credit Assessment team to help achieve this.

What will be expected of you:

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with different personalities across the business.
  • 6+ years of underwriting experience (ideally in a B2B industry), and experience leading a team.
  • Ability to identify areas for positive change and implement these.
  • Ability to motivate others and instil values that align to the highest levels of customer service while maintaining high levels of employee engagement.
  • Recognising the need to adapt your management approach to work with different team personalities to best enhance their motivation and work output.
  • Ability to give constructive feedback to individuals or the wider team.
  • Good emotional intelligence helping to relate to and manage emotions of other team members.
