Are you a highly experienced Mechanical Engineer seeking a new challenge in an interesting and varied role?
This could suit a Chartered Mechanical Engineer ideally with experience in Water Treatment facilities, utilities or other process industries.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that projects with a mechanical component are correctly defined, designed, installed, and completed, working on a variety of engineering schemes.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership on projects requiring mechanical design input, ensuring compliance with project scopes and standards.
- Check, comment on, and approve designs carried out by Contractors and Consultants.
- Line management responsibility for the Mechanical Engineer.
- Undertake design activities within your area of expertise, developing designs that meet technical standards and are safe and efficient.
- Prepare design, tender, contract, and as-built documentation, collaborating with the wider Engineering team and supply chain partners.
- Support the Procurement team by providing specialist technical expertise during tender evaluations.
- Provide technical support in developing Business Cases where mechanical engineering input is required.
- Ensure site activities align with designs and specifications.
- Provide site supervision of works, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with technical specifications.
- Offer technical advice to other parts of the business and post-construction snagging.
- Prepare record documentation and update asset data records.
- Ensure smooth handover between Engineering and Operations during commissioning and takeover project phases.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Design experience in mechanical engineering within an industrial environment.
- Competency with AutoCAD 2020 or later.
- Understanding of regulations and standards relating to mechanical design and construction.
- Excellent communication skills and computer literacy.
- Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent, ideally CEng status with a relevant professional institution.
- Broad understanding of systems, plant, and processes used in municipal water treatment and industry.
