We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Social Science Teacher to join our vibrant educational community at a leading school in South Gloucestershire. This maternity cover role offers the opportunity to teach a diverse curriculum across Year 7 to Year 13, with a particular emphasis on A Level subjects. Day-to-day of the role:

  • Delivering inspiring and engaging lessons across a range of Social Science subjects, including Sociology, Criminology, and Health and Social Care.
  • Encouraging students to become inquisitive and independent thinkers, with the aim of sparking their interest in further study or helping them understand Social Science in everyday life.
  • Ensuring equality of opportunity for all learners to make good progress, irrespective of starting points.
  • Building effective relationships with students and colleagues, fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Acting as a positive role model for students and embodying the school's ethos and values.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Ability to teach a range of Social Science subjects to A Level.
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in using presentation software.
  • A personable and approachable demeanor, capable of quickly establishing rapport with students and staff.
