Job Title: Wheelchair Therapist
Location: South London
Contract Details: Temporary, Full Time
Salary: £26.65 - £30.50 per hour

Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and prescribe appropriate manual and powered wheelchairs based on individual needs
- Modify standard equipment to maximise function and independence
- Provide training and advice on wheelchair use, posture, and pressure care
- Ensure adherence to clinical and regulatory standards for excellence in service provision
- Collaborate with other professionals and organisations to provide holistic care
- Oversee treatment plans and provide supervision to support staff
- Keep up-to-date with advances in technology, techniques, and equipment
- Comply with professional codes of conduct and ethical guidelines
- Champion diversity and promote equality of access and outcomes
Essential Requirements:
- State registered Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, or Clinical Scientist
- Working knowledge of person-centred service provision
- Understanding of the needs of individuals with long-term disabilities
- Familiarity with wheelchair prescription, cushions, and special seating
- Experience working within the community and collaborating with education and social services
- Knowledge of quality assurance systems and clinical excellence regimes
- Familiarity with health and social care policies and legislation
- Ability to carry out complex wheelchair assessments
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role within Adult Social Care, or independent sector organisations
- Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team and collaborating with various stakeholders
- Direct clinical leadership experience
- Customer service experience
