Investment & Stewardship Officer

The starting salary for this position is £35,730 per annum, working 36 hours per week.

We are delighted to be hiring a full-time Investment & Stewardship Officer to join our Pensions Service. The role is hybrid with a weekly balance of remote and in-person working. Our current base is the Surrey County Council Dakota building in Weybridge, but this is subject to change. It is expected that you will be in the office at least 2 days a week.

Integral to achieving our aims and ambitions for the future is the Investment & Stewardship Team. The Team has responsibility for overseeing the Fund's investments and their responsible management, which will ultimately pay the pensions of over 120,000 people.

About the Role
Reporting to the Deputy Head of Investment & Stewardship and operating with a level of professional independence and autonomy, the role is a mix of investment and administration work with regular monthly, quarterly and annual tasks, as well as short term ad hoc projects as required. Example tasks are:
Managing the entire capital call process for £1bn private investment portfolio.
Preparation of reports and associated annexes for Pension Fund Committee, Annual Report.
Assisting with Responsible Investment report activity including Stewardship Code, TCFD and Administration of trade, settlement and transfer activity.
Assisting with the response to daily ad hoc requests.
Maintaining presence in the wider fund, LGPS community and relationship with our pooling partner.

This role would be perfect for a self-starter and someone with an interest in investment.

Shortlisting Criteria
The desire and pride to strive for complete accuracy, build relationships, continuously improve and work collaboratively in a small team will be paramount to the success of this role. Multiple concurrent tasks and working to set deadlines is standard practice so you will need to be robust in your attention to detail, with strong grammar skills, and disciplined with your time management.
