Product Manager

The Business

Our client is a business that is going through an exciting period of continued growth. Due to open operations in the USA in the near future. This business is at the forefront of their category within the home furnishing and high end interiors products. Doe to this growth period the search for a highly commerical Product Manager has begun.

The Role

The Product Manager will report to the Marketing Manager of the business. This is the first Product Management role for the business and an exciting time to join. This role will take full ownership of the products within the company and be a driver of new products into the marketplace. This will be a highly visible role across the organisation when taking a product lifecycle from conception through to completion and delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Develop business cases for new products, improvements and business ventures.
  • Generate and own the New Product Development Funnel.
  • Develop the core messaging and positioning for products.
  • Report progress to agreed plans to senior leadership
  • Partner between Engineering, Sales, Marketing and Production departments to ensure effective support, planning an delivery.
  • Be the market expert in relation to the product segment.
  • Monitor competitor activity and ensure product is differentiated.
  • Propose pricing strategy to meet revenue and profitability goals.
  • Work with the marketing team to support the positioning of the product through traditional sales techniques, marketing collateral, point of sale material, and on digital platforms.
  • Work with the sales leadership team to ensure that customer service, salespeople and retailers are properly equipped to sell features of existing and new products
  • Provide Sales and operational forecasts so that production resources and procurement can be planned
  • Run Beta/Pilot programs with early-stage products or samples.

Required Experience

  • Significant experience in a product management role (consumer products, preferably interior, home appliance, lifestyle or home automation products)
  • Demonstrated success in defining and launching products
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Product Design, Engineering or similar.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication skills.
  • An accomplished presenter.
  • Proven ability to influence internally and externally
