VP of Finance

My client is seeking to hire a stand-out VP of Finance who has the progression potential to accelerate their career within the company. This individual will have risen rapidly through a series of increasingly senior finance roles within a multi-country organisation and have had good exposure to the breadth of the finance function.

A business partnering mindset, commercial orientation and ability to dive into the detail whilst having the bandwidth to operate at a strategic level are critical. The individual must have strong leadership credentials and be well versed in delivering through influence and collaboration as well as direct control. A compelling mix of IQ and EQ is important, as is being an advocate for change. An energetic, resilient, results driven orientation is key and the individual must have strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to establish credibility with senior leaders across the organisation as well as its Board of Directors.

The Vice President Finance is responsible for leading all finance support with a remit covering external reporting, business performance (planning, forecasting and monitoring), commercial finance business partnering, transformation, mergers and acquisitions and internal audit. The individual will be critical to the evolution of the finance function to support the changing business as they drive towards their multiplicity of goals. The role will operate as a key strategic partner to the leadership team in driving the continued growth and transformation of the region.

Key responsibilities include:

External Reporting

  • Lead relationship with external auditors and develop aligned audit approach (quarterly, annual) for audit clearance of over 100 statutory entities
  • Lead development of all accounting policies under EU adopted IFRS

Business Performance and Commercial Business Partnering

  • Provision of first-class financial business partnering across the business to set strategy, plan and evaluate performance providing sound insights
  • Review and opine on investment decisions and make recommendation to the Board

Transformation

  • Lead financial benefits case for restructuring programmes, monitor performance and reporting to Board
  • Lead provision management, compliant with IFRS
  • Lead European Process Management across all functional domains, develop aligned objectives and roadmap and crystalise into 'business as usual'
  • Ensure new ERP /other systems enable efficient transaction processing and performance reporting, compliant with Group accounting policy

Internal Audit, JSOX, Internal Control

  • Lead aligned internal audit plans and ensure these are executed, reported and findings addressed
  • Ensure JSOX compliance is achieved and Internal control framework is kept current/implemented in mitigation of and in proportion to evaluated risks

Mergers and Acquisitions

  • Lead all financial aspects of deal side acquisition projects including business case and due diligence
  • Lead fair value purchase price allocation accounting under IFRS and continue to build our proprietary approach and tools
  • Lead financial integration of all acquisitions

Strategic Projects

  • Provide financial leadership for cross functional strategic projects
